The World of: Y2J!

Bangkok based DJ and Producer, Jax Jones, describes the direction of his upcoming album Y2J! as “techno, but a bit more polly pocket”. Being half Chinese, half turkish, this album is an exploration of identity, and features many collaborations with East and South East asian musicians. This project really enabled me to push my ideas and turn up the kitschy-boldness to 11.

Reminiscent of the hypnotic animations of Windows Media Player, I created visualisers that are playful and easy to watch on repeat, that match the burst of energy that comes with listening to these tracks. Y2J! pairs the vividness of South-East Asian cultural aesthetics and the energy of Clubland Classics.
